upper_greyI take a look at discounted men’s clothing to see whether its possible to get a new look on a budget.

Family life stretches the household budget in a lot of different directions, not least when there’s only one salary coming in. Although I don’t need to don sharp suits for client meetings these days, it does feel good to keep the wardrobe up to date, so finding clothing that looks the part without breaking the bank is a real winner.

I’ve been fortunate to be asked to try out a selection of the men’s clothing range from MandM Direct. They feature clothing from a range of popular labels at greatly discounted prices. The challenge was to provide a new look for under £50.

My outfit included:

  • Mad Wax canvas boat shoes £7.99
  • Fluid men’s jacket £14.99
  • Fluid men’s grandad neck t-shirt £4.99
  • Onfire mens denim shorts £14.99

Giving a total cost of just: £42.96.

The Fluid t-shirt is 100 per cent cotton, nice and comfortable and ideal for casual use, not least as the weather gets warmer. The jacket is polyester, so cheap and cheerful but handy if you want something light when heading out.

lowergreyfinalThe Onfire shorts are denim cotton and an easy fit. Probably not a look that I can claim to pull off terribly well but MandM direct offer a really good range of colours and styles are similarly low prices.

Finally the deck shoes, which given my wide feet were a surprisingly comfortable fit and a great lightweight option for footwear over the summer.

I hadn’t ordered clothes online before so I was pleased by how easy it was to get a full range of clothes including shoes that fit comfortably, although clothing can of course be easily returned if needed.

Overall, I was impressed that it’s possible to get a complete set of clothes for well under £50. In addition to this low-priced range, MandM Direct also feature a really wide range of heavily discounted brands so next time I shop I might well choose to treat myself to some labels without breaking the bank.

Thanks, John. Fashion is a new theme for the blog – and one I still have everything to learn about – but it’s been a fun process. Thanks for popping by.
